Shed Removal & Clearance in London & Surrey

We safely dismantle old sheds, load all materials and handle full garden shed disposal through licensed sites, so you are not left with a pile of timber and roofing in the garden.

As part of our wider clearance services across London and Surrey, this page focuses on shed dismantling, clearance, and disposal, including options for removing contents and discussing base or ground removal where practical.

Whether your shed is rotten, damaged by weather, full of junk or simply in the way of new landscaping, we can dismantle shed structures carefully and leave the area clear and ready for its next use. If the project also involves another garden structure, our greenhouse removal page is also relevant.

Registered Waste Carrier & Rubbish Disposal Company

What our shed removal service includes

Our team provides a complete service, not just demolition. A typical shed clearance job includes:

  • Safely dismantling the shed structure
  • Removing doors, windows and roof panels
  • Cutting sections down to manageable sizes
  • Loading all materials into our vehicle
  • Full garden shed disposal at licensed facilities

If the shed is still full of items, we can also include:

  • Clearing contents such as tools, pots and stored items
  • Separating reusable items if you want to keep anything
  • Removing associated rubbish around the shed area

You do not need to take the shed apart or empty everything yourself. We plan the work so you avoid heavy lifting and awkward trips to the tip.

Shed Removal in London: Tight Gardens and Limited Access

Many London gardens are compact, with limited access and neighbours close by. We’re used to working in tight spaces and tailor our approach to suit your property, including:

  • Terraced homes with shared alleyways

  • Rear gardens accessed through the house

  • Sheds positioned in corners behind fencing or planting

Before we arrive, we’ll ask a few quick questions so we can plan properly:

  • The access route from the garden to the vehicle

  • Any narrow doorways, steps, or tight turns

  • Whether access is shared with neighbours

With that information, we can dismantle the shed into manageable sections and remove everything safely, without damaging walls, paving, or fencing. Where access is restricted or streets are busy, we work efficiently and keep noise and disruption to a minimum.

Shed removal in Surrey: Larger Gardens and Outbuildings

In Surrey and the surrounding suburbs, sheds are often larger and may sit alongside other outbuildings. We regularly handle:

  • Larger timber sheds and workshops

  • Multiple sheds in one garden

  • Sheds combined with lean-tos, log stores, or side units

Because these jobs can involve bigger structures, we take a planned, safety-first approach:

  • We review photos in advance to understand the size and construction

  • We bring the right tools and enough people to dismantle everything safely

  • We allow sufficient time for careful take-down and full removal from site

If you have more than one shed — or a mix of sheds and greenhouse structures — we can usually arrange a single visit to clear everything at the same time.

Dismantling old or damaged sheds

Old sheds can be unpredictable. Rot, rusted fixings and storm damage can make structures unstable, so our team treats every job with extra care — especially when:

  • Timber is soft, crumbling, or visibly rotten

  • Roof felt is split and letting in water

  • Panels are leaning or partially collapsed

  • There’s obvious damage from strong winds or falling branches

To dismantle sheds safely, we follow a careful, step-by-step process:

  • Remove doors and any loose panels first

  • Strip roof coverings and roof timbers in a controlled way

  • Take down the walls one panel at a time, supporting sections as we go

  • Keep the work area tidy to reduce trip hazards and prevent accidents

If a shed is already in a dangerous condition, we may ask you to keep people and pets away until we arrive. Safety always comes first when handling unstable structures.

Ground clearance and shed base removal

Once the shed has been removed, you may want the area cleared or the base taken up as well. In many cases, we can also:

  • Remove old timber bases and framing

  • Clear loose debris and leftover fixings

  • Lift and dispose of timber decking attached to the shed

If there’s a solid base (such as paving slabs or concrete), the best option depends on what you plan to do next:

  • Keeping the base: If you’re putting up a new shed or creating a seating area, we can leave the base in place and tidy the area around it.

  • Clearing the space: If you want a clean slate for landscaping, we can discuss lifting slabs or breaking out smaller sections of concrete where it’s practical and safe to do so.

Very large or thick concrete bases can fall outside standard removal work and may need specialist groundwork. If you send photos, we’ll tell you honestly what’s feasible and the safest way to proceed.

What we can and cannot take as part of shed clearance

Our shed removal service includes taking away most materials from the structure itself, including:

  • Timber panels, posts and framing

  • Felt roofing and lightweight roof sheets

  • Doors, window frames and shed glazing

  • Screws, fixings and small metal components

  • General contents such as plant pots, hand tools and stored items (where agreed in advance)

There are a couple of important limitations:

  • Suspected asbestos: If the roof or panels may contain asbestos (for example, some older corrugated sheets), we can’t remove them as part of a standard job. These need a specialist asbestos contractor.

  • Heavy masonry structures: Buildings that are closer to small garages than sheds (brick or block-built) may require a different approach and aren’t always covered within standard clearance work.

If you’re unsure what materials you have, send clear photos and let us know anything unusual. We’ll advise what we can remove as part of a normal clearance and when specialist help is the safest option.

Combining shed removal with other garden projects

Many customers book shed removal as part of a wider garden refresh. Common reasons include:

  • Removing an old shed before installing a new one

  • Taking down a shed to create space for landscaping or a patio

  • Clearing a shed and arranging separate garden waste removal for plants and soil

We keep shed clearance focused on the structure and any agreed contents, rather than general green waste. If you’d like to coordinate shed removal with wider garden clearance, we can help plan the timing around your other work. For heavier green waste and soil, our garden waste removal service is usually the better fit.

How our shed removal process works

If you want a broader overview beyond this shed-specific page, our guide to how our rubbish clearance service works explains the usual process from enquiry to disposal.

1.) Enquiry and photos

To get started, contact us with your postcode, a brief description of the shed, and a couple of photos from different angles. (approximate size, condition, and where it sits in the garden). A couple of photos from different angles really helps us plan the job.

2.) Assessment and estimate

We will reply with practical advice, a clear estimate and available time slots for shed removal London or shed removal Surrey.

3.) Booking your slot

Once you’re happy with the estimate, we agree a date and time window. We schedule work to allow enough time for safe dismantling and complete removal.

4.) Arrival and safety check

On the day, our team arrives within the agreed window, checks the access route from the street to the shed, and assesses stability and nearby hazards. We confirm what’s included and where we’ll position tools and materials.

5.) Dismantling and loading

We dismantle the shed carefully, panel by panel. Materials are stacked safely, then carried out and loaded onto the vehicle. Any agreed contents are removed and loaded as part of the job.

6.) Basic tidy and final check

Once the shed is gone, we do a basic tidy of the area—collecting loose fixings, obvious fragments and any remaining debris. You can then inspect the space and confirm you’re happy.

7.) Disposal and recycling

All materials are taken to licensed facilities. Where possible, timber and metal are separated for recycling, with only non-recyclable waste going for final disposal.

Safety and neighbours during shed clearance

Working in gardens can affect neighbours and shared spaces, so we take a considerate approach on every job. We will:

  • Avoid working over fences or boundaries without permission

  • Keep tools and materials contained within your garden

  • Minimise noise where possible, particularly in built-up areas

  • Keep access routes safe and free from obstructions

If you share access with neighbours, it’s helpful to give them a quick heads-up that we’ll be visiting. That way, everyone can plan around short periods of movement along paths or driveways while we dismantle the shed and remove materials.

Preparing for shed removal

You don’t need to do everything yourself before we arrive, but a few small steps can help the job run smoothly:

  • Remove anything you definitely want to keep from inside the shed

  • Make sure we can reach the shed without major obstacles

  • Let us know about any fragile areas, such as old decking, loose paving, or delicate planting

  • Tell us if the shed has power or water connected, so it can be isolated safely beforehand

If you’re not able to empty the shed, that’s absolutely fine — just let us know. We can often include clearing the contents as part of the job, and photos help us confirm how much is inside.

Shed removal prices – what affects the cost

The price of shed removal London and shed removal Surrey varies depending on:

  • Shed size (height, width and depth)
  • Construction type (lightweight timber versus heavier builds)
  • Condition (sound versus heavily rotten or collapsed)
  • Access to the shed and distance to the vehicle
  • Whether contents and base removal are included

A small, straightforward shed clearance London job in an easily accessible garden will typically cost less than a large shed removal Surrey project involving multiple sheds and limited access. If you send good photos and a short description, we can normally give a solid estimate before confirming on the day.

Many customers find that using a professional shed removal London or Surrey service works out more practical than hiring a skip and trying to dismantle shed structures themselves, especially when you factor in time, effort and safety.

We used this company on recommendation of another trade that we trust, so I was confident they would do a good job. Rob responded to my message, visited to give a quote and was able to remove our waste on the same day. We agreed payment by bank transfer. We had a large job of old flooring, fencing and general household waste. Rob did the work quickly and efficiently and left our front garden looking the best it has done in weeks. Overall, he did a great job for us and also really appreciated how friendly and professional they were too. Would happily recommend and If we need a pickup in the future he would be the first person we would call.

We used Rob to dissemble, and remove our garden shed, as well as a few other garden items. He was professional, diligent, earnest and really lovely to work with. Reasonably priced too! He worked incredibly hard to sort out quite a complicated setup, and was very transparent - explaining everything to us as he was going along. Couldn’t recommend him enough and will deffo be using him again in the future. Thanks Rob!

I never met Rob in person but that did not take away from the quality of the service provided. I contacted Rob to ask if he could remove a green house from a property we had just purchased (but were not yet living in). He asked for a day or two to check his schedule and confirm his availability. Rob then got back to me the next day and said he could be there the following morning. I was not able to meet him but I said he could let himself into the back yard. He contacted me the next day from the property, provided me with a quote (which I thought was very reasonable), then started with the work immediately. He then contacted me a few hours later, sent me some before and after photos, and that was that. Fast, efficient, well priced, professional, and excellent communication. I am sure I will be using his services going forward and highly recommend these as well. Thank you Rob.
