We provide fast, flexible collections for single items and full rooms, including sofa collection London, beds, wardrobes, dining sets and almost any other bulky furniture you need to remove.

Simple, legal furniture disposal in London

Bulky furniture is one of the hardest things to get rid of. Council collections often have long waiting lists, charity shops cannot always accept large items, and informal “man with a van” adverts may not dispose of things legally.

Key points about how we work:

  • Fully licensed waste carrier with proper documentation
  • Teams experienced in moving large items safely in homes and flats
  • Clear, upfront pricing for furniture disposal London jobs
  • Strong focus on reuse and recycling where possible
  • Coverage across South London and surrounding areas

When you book old furniture removal with us, you are not just freeing up space; you are also meeting your duty of care by making sure your items go through authorised facilities rather than ending up in a lay-by or on a street corner.

What our furniture disposal service includes

Our furniture disposal London service is flexible enough to handle anything from one sofa to a van full of mixed furniture. Below are the main types of work we carry out.

Single item furniture disposal

Sometimes you only need one thing gone. Common single-item old furniture removal requests include:

  • Two or three-seater sofas
  • Corner sofas and sofa beds
  • Double or king-size mattresses and bed frames
  • Large wardrobes or display units

For these jobs, our sofa collection London and single-item disposal option keeps things simple. We agree a time window, arrive, remove the item safely from wherever it is, and take it away for recycling or disposal. You do not have to drag it outside or help with lifting.

Multiple items and room clearances

Many customers use furniture disposal London when they are updating one room at a time. Typical examples:

  • Clearing a bedroom ready for new furniture
  • Removing old lounge suites and units
  • Emptying a dining room or home office

In these cases, we treat it as a small room clearance focused on old furniture removal rather than a full house clearance. You tell us which pieces need to go, we dismantle larger items where needed, and we clear everything in one visit.

Office and commercial furniture

Although this page is primarily about homes, furniture disposal London also covers:

  • Office desks and chairs
  • Meeting tables and storage units
  • Reception seating and display stands

Although this page is primarily about homes, furniture disposal London also covers office desks and chairs, meeting tables and storage units. For larger business jobs we may direct you to our commercial waste page, but for one-off old furniture removal in small offices and studios, this service is usually ideal. but for one-off old furniture removal in small offices and studios, this service is usually ideal.

Landlord and end-of-tenancy furniture disposal

Landlords and letting agents often need furniture disposal London between tenancies. Typical scenarios include:

  • Removing damaged or worn-out furniture from a furnished let
  • Clearing items abandoned by former tenants
  • Changing furniture style before marketing a property

Here, quick old furniture removal can make the difference between a delayed letting and a smooth turnaround. We work to your timescales, remove the agreed items and leave the property tidy and ready for cleaning or viewing.

Outdoor and garage furniture

Bulky furniture does not only live indoors. Our furniture disposal London service also covers:

  • Garden tables, chairs and loungers
  • Old barbecues and outdoor storage units
  • Sofas and armchairs that have been stored in garages or sheds

These items are often heavy, dirty or weathered. We include them as part of general old furniture removal, so you can clear both indoor and outdoor spaces together.

Why choose professional furniture disposal London?

Trying to manage furniture disposal in London on your own can be a real challenge:

  • You may not have a large enough vehicle
  • Lifting and moving awkward items risks injury
  • Many recycling centres limit vans or require bookings
  • There is always a risk that an unlicensed collector will fly-tip your items

Using our professional furniture disposal London service solves these problems in one go. Benefits include:

  • Safe lifting and moving by trained teams
  • Protection for walls, floors and stairways during old furniture removal
  • No need to arrange skip hire or permits
  • Legal, traceable disposal with a licensed waste carrier

For many households, the convenience and peace of mind are worth far more than the cost, especially when the alternative is struggling with a sofa down narrow stairs or hoping that a cheap collector behaves responsibly.

How our sofa collection London service works

Our sofa collection London process is designed to be straightforward from the first call to the final sweep-up.

  1. Get in touch
Tell us what you need: for example, “one three-seater sofa and an armchair”. If you can send a quick photo of the items and where they are in the property, that helps us price the sofa collection London accurately.
  2. Receive your estimate
We give you a clear estimate based on size, number of items, access and location. For most furniture disposal London jobs, we can do this from your description without a site visit.
  3. Book a time window
Once you are happy with the estimate, we agree a date and time window for your sofa collection London. We offer weekday and, where possible, weekend slots across our coverage area.
  4. On the day
The team arrives within the agreed window, confirms what needs to go and finalises the price before lifting anything. If your items match the description, the estimate stands. If there are big differences, we explain why and agree any change.
  5. Removal and tidy-up
We carefully remove the sofa and other furniture from the room, dismantling where necessary to get through doorways and hallways. After loading, we tidy up so that the space is ready for your new furniture.

Disposal and recycling
Your sofa and other items are taken to an authorised facility. As part of our furniture disposal London service, we prioritise recycling and reuse where possible, with only genuinely non-recyclable waste going to landfill.

What furniture we can take

Our furniture disposal London service covers almost all standard domestic and light commercial furniture, including:

  • Sofas, armchairs, sofa beds and footstools
  • Our furniture disposal London service covers almost all standard domestic and light commercial furniture, including beds, mattresses, headboards and frames. If the main item is a bed set or old mattress, our mattress disposal page is also relevant.

  • Wardrobes, chests of drawers and bedside tables
  • Dining tables, chairs, sideboards and dressers
  • Bookcases, shelving units and TV stands
  • Desks, office chairs and small filing cabinets
  • Garden tables, chairs and benches

If you are unsure whether something counts as furniture or general rubbish, you can list everything when you enquire, you can list everything when you enquire. If you are unsure whether something counts as furniture or general rubbish, you can list everything when you enquire. Often we can combine old furniture removal with additional household waste in one visit.

Items we cannot take as furniture

There are a few things that fall outside normal furniture disposal London for safety or legal reasons. We cannot take:

  • Items containing asbestos or clear hazardous materials
  • Large quantities of loose broken glass
  • Gas cylinders and some types of electrical or chemical equipment
  • Very large built-in units that require construction work to detach

If your items are fixed to walls or floors, or if you believe they may contain hazardous materials, please mention this when asking about old furniture removal so we can advise correctly. In some cases, we can still help once certain steps have been taken by other contractors.

Furniture disposal prices and value

Every furniture disposal London job is different, but we keep pricing transparent and fair.

Cost is usually based on:

  • The number and size of items
  • How heavy and awkward they are to move
  • Access conditions (stairs, tight hallways, lift use)
  • Distance from the property to the vehicle

For a single sofa collection London, the price will usually be lower than the cost of hiring a van for the day or arranging a skip. For bigger old furniture removal jobs, pricing is often still more efficient because you pay for the actual load removed and the labour is included.

If you send us photos, we can usually provide a strong estimate before you book. Our teams confirm the final amount on arrival, so there are no surprises when the furniture disposal London work is complete.

Areas we cover for furniture disposal in London

We carry out furniture disposal London across a wide local area, with particular strength in South and South West London. Typical locations include:

  • South West London: Clapham, Battersea, Balham, Tooting, Streatham and Wimbledon
  • Inner South London: Brixton, Elephant and Castle, Camberwell, Peckham, Dulwich and Herne Hill
  • South East London: Greenwich, Lewisham, Deptford, Catford, Eltham, Bexleyheath and Sidcup

If you are just outside these areas, we may still be able to help with old furniture removal, especially if you are near the Surrey border or on main routes. Share your postcode and a brief description of the job and we will confirm availability.

Other options vs professional furniture disposal London

It is sensible to consider all your options before booking furniture disposal London. Common alternatives include:

  • Council bulky waste collection – often cheaper, but limited slots, strict rules, and you usually have to carry furniture outside yourself.
  • Charity collection – ideal for good-condition items with fire labels, but subject to checks and availability, and they cannot take everything.
  • Taking items to the tip yourself – works if you have a large vehicle, time, and are comfortable lifting heavy furniture.

For many people, professional old furniture removal wins on:

  • Speed – you pick a date that works for you
  • Convenience – no heavy lifting or van hire
  • Certainty – you know everything is handled legally and properly

Where items are in excellent condition, we fully support donating to charity first. Our furniture disposal London service is there for everything that cannot easily be reused that way, or when time and access make other options impractical.

How to prepare for old furniture removal

You do not need to dismantle everything before old furniture removal, but a little preparation keeps the visit smooth and quick.

Before we arrive:

  • Decide clearly which items are going and which are staying
  • Empty drawers and cupboards so furniture is lighter and easier to move
  • Clear a path from the room to the door where possible
  • Keep valuables and fragile items well away from the furniture being removed

If you are replacing items, you may want to schedule furniture disposal London for the same day the new pieces arrive, or the day before. We can advise on timing when you contact us.

FAQs about furniture disposal London

Can you take furniture from upstairs rooms and lofts?
Yes. Our furniture disposal London service includes removing items from upstairs rooms, lofts and basements, as long as access is safe. We regularly carry out old furniture removal in flats and maisonettes.

Do I need to disassemble beds and wardrobes first?
No, not unless you prefer to. Our teams can dismantle large items as part of standard furniture disposal London, bringing tools to take frames apart where necessary.

What happens to my furniture after collection?
All items taken through our furniture disposal London service go to authorised facilities. Reusable and recyclable materials are separated where possible. Only genuine residual waste is sent for final disposal.

Can you collect other rubbish at the same time as my sofa?
Often yes. A sofa collection London booking can usually be combined with a small amount of additional rubbish or other furniture, as long as it fits within the agreed load. Let us know everything you would like removed when you enquire.

Is this the same as a full house clearance?
No. Furniture disposal London focuses on single items or a manageable number of pieces. For whole-property clearances, especially for moves or probate, we would point you towards a dedicated house clearance service so that job is handled with the right structure and detail.

Book furniture disposal London today

If you are ready to reclaim your space, our furniture disposal London service makes it easy. Whether you need a quick sofa collection London or a full room of old furniture removal, we will:

  • Give you clear, honest advice about the best approach
  • Provide a straightforward estimate based on photos and description
  • Arrange a convenient time window that fits your day
  • Handle all the lifting, loading and legal disposal for you

We used this company on recommendation of another trade that we trust, so I was confident they would do a good job. Rob responded to my message, visited to give a quote and was able to remove our waste on the same day. We agreed payment by bank transfer. We had a large job of old flooring, fencing and general household waste. Rob did the work quickly and efficiently and left our front garden looking the best it has done in weeks. Overall, he did a great job for us and also really appreciated how friendly and professional they were too. Would happily recommend and If we need a pickup in the future he would be the first person we would call.

We used Rob to dissemble, and remove our garden shed, as well as a few other garden items. He was professional, diligent, earnest and really lovely to work with. Reasonably priced too! He worked incredibly hard to sort out quite a complicated setup, and was very transparent - explaining everything to us as he was going along. Couldn’t recommend him enough and will deffo be using him again in the future. Thanks Rob!

I never met Rob in person but that did not take away from the quality of the service provided. I contacted Rob to ask if he could remove a green house from a property we had just purchased (but were not yet living in). He asked for a day or two to check his schedule and confirm his availability. Rob then got back to me the next day and said he could be there the following morning. I was not able to meet him but I said he could let himself into the back yard. He contacted me the next day from the property, provided me with a quote (which I thought was very reasonable), then started with the work immediately. He then contacted me a few hours later, sent me some before and after photos, and that was that. Fast, efficient, well priced, professional, and excellent communication. I am sure I will be using his services going forward and highly recommend these as well. Thank you Rob.
